What you'll do
- Provide personal care and assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Monitor and document patients' vital signs and overall health status, ensuring any changes are reported promptly.
- Prepare nutritious meals and assist with meal planning to meet dietary needs and preferences.
- Maintain a clean and safe living environment through regular cleaning and organization of spaces.
- Assist residents with mobility using equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary, ensuring their safety at all times.
- Develop and follow personalized care plans that cater to individual needs, including memory care for those with Alzheimer's or dementia.
- Engage residents in social activities that promote mental stimulation and emotional well-being.
- Administer medications as prescribed while adhering to HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy.
Basic qualifications
- Experience in caregiving or related fields such as home health, assisted living, or nursing homes.
- Knowledge of first aid and CPR techniques to ensure immediate response in emergencies.
- Ability to lift heavy objects safely and assist individuals with mobility challenges.
- Strong observational skills for monitoring patient conditions and reporting changes effectively.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism.
- Familiarity with hospice care practices and long-term care environments.
- Background in social work or related fields is a plus.
- Understanding of patient care standards, including medication administration protocols.
