Job Description

As a Security Guard - Campus Entry Desk in Wayne, NJ, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As a Front Desk Security Professional with Allied Universal at an educational location, you will be the first point of contact for visitors, students, and staff. Your responsibilities include monitoring access, verifying credentials, and delivering exceptional customer service. You will help to deter security-related incidents by maintaining a professional presence and communicating clearly, all while upholding our values of teamwork, integrity, and a people-first culture.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to individuals at the front desk by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies.
  • Monitor and control access to the location, verifying identification and/or credentials as appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols.
  • Maintain accurate records and/or logs of visitor and employee activity at the front desk.
  • Assist with emergency response activities as required, including communication with appropriate personnel.
  • Support a welcoming environment while helping to deter unauthorized access and/or activities.
  • Communicate professionally with students, staff, visitors, and Allied Universal team members.

Minimum Requirements:

  • At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Access control or badge experience is preferred.
  • Experience using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
