What you'll be doing

The GL/Auto/WC Insurance Claim Specialist is responsible for managing and coordinating all aspects of the company's General Liability (GL), Automobile (Auto), and Workers' Compensation (WC) insurance claims. This role ensures timely and accurate reporting, thorough investigation, and efficient resolution of claims while protecting the company's financial and legal interests. The specialist serves as the primary liaison between field operations, insurance carriers, adjusters, and legal counsel.

  • Receive, review, and file all GL, Auto, and WC claims in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate with insurance carriers, third-party administrators, and internal departments to ensure accurate reporting and documentation.
  • Track and manage claims from initial filing through closure, maintaining detailed and organized records.
  • Conduct or assist in root-cause investigations for incidents and accidents.
  • Collect, review, and maintain supporting documentation such as photos, witness statements, police reports, and medical records.
  • Ensure incident reports are completed accurately by field personnel and supervisors.
  • Act as the company's primary point of contact for all claim-related communications.
  • Collaborate with safety, HR, fleet, and operations teams to gather relevant information.
  • Communicate claim updates and outcomes to management and affected departments.
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations for Workers' Compensation claims.
  • Maintain up-to-date claim files for internal audits and insurance renewals.
  • Prepare and distribute claim status reports and analytics to management.
  • Analyze claim trends and provide feedback to improve safety and reduce losses.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of corrective action plans.
  • Support annual insurance renewals with loss data and claim summaries.

What Skills and Experience you'll bring to us

  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Risk Management, or related field preferred.
  • 3–5 years of experience managing GL, Auto, and/or WC claims (construction, pavement, or transportation industry experience strongly preferred).
  • Strong understanding of insurance terminology, claims processes, and workers' compensation laws.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and follow-up skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and claim management software.
  • Attention to detail and ability to handle multiple claims simultaneously.
