About the role:
In this role, the Analytics Engineer will play a critical part in supporting Branch's Finance and Accounting operations, ensuring accurate reconciliation, money-movement visibility, and audit-ready financial data. The ideal candidate will bring a blend of technical expertise, industry knowledge, and a deep understanding of analytics engineering best practices. Familiarity with leading-edge tools and technologies in the data landscape is essential for driving insights and innovations within our team.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Data Model Development: Craft and maintain scalable, efficient, and performance-optimized data models to power business applications and analytics with a strong emphasis on payment flows, reconciliation, and financial data integrity
- Platform Optimization: Enhance our data platform with best practices for improved performance, consistency, and accuracy
- Technology Adoption: Champion the latest data technologies and methodologies, staying ahead of industry trends to elevate team productivity and platform functionality
- Problem-Solving: Proactively address data challenges to boost business outcomes, using data-driven insights
- Collaboration: Work closely with multiple technical and stakeholder teams, leveraging data to drive strategic decisions and foster a culture of data-driven excellence
Qualifications:
- Advanced SQL Expertise: At least 5 years of experience in crafting complex, highly optimized, and readable SQL queries, demonstrating excellence in database management and data manipulation. Ability to build maintainable transformation pipelines and contribute to a high-quality, trusted analytics ecosystem
- Data Modeling Proficiency: Skilled in data modeling, with a strong understanding of data warehousing principles and best practices, ensuring the creation of efficient, scalable data structures
- Modern Data Stack Experience: Solid experience with DBT and analytics engineering best practices. Experience with our data stack, including Snowflake, GitHub, and Looker, is highly desirable
- Financial Industry Experience: Strong working knowledge of the payments sector, including payment processing workflows and underlying money-movement rails (ACH, card networks), fraud detection, and risk management, supported by a proven track record of solving industry-specific challenges
- Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, or a closely related field, or an equivalent combination of relevant academic and professional experience
Compensation:
The salary range for this role is $145-160k.
The salary range displayed reflects an average base salary range for the position across all the U.S. The base salary offered to an applicant could be higher or lower based on each applicant's specific skill set, depth of experience, relevant education or training, etc.
Location:
This position is classified as REMOTE within the United States of America.
We are unable to hire candidates located outside of the domestic U.S.
