Overview

Join our dedicated team as a Behavioral Health Outpatient Treatment Center Driver, where your role is vital in ensuring safe, reliable transportation for clients receiving mental health and substance use services. This energetic position offers the opportunity to make a positive impact by providing timely and compassionate transportation, supporting our clients' journey toward wellness. You will operate a variety of commercial vehicles, including vans and shuttle buses, while maintaining safety standards and fostering a welcoming environment for all passengers.

Duties

  • Safely operate commercial vehicles such as vans, shuttle buses, and other designated transport modes to pick up and drop off clients at scheduled appointments and community locations
  • Conduct thorough vehicle inspections before and after each shift to ensure safety and compliance with all traffic laws and company policies
  • Load, secure, and unload client belongings using appropriate equipment like pallet jacks or manual handling techniques when necessary
  • Maintain accurate logs of trips, mileage, fuel usage, and vehicle maintenance needs in accordance with organizational procedures
  • Communicate effectively with clients, team members, and supervisors to coordinate schedules, relay important information, and address any issues promptly
  • Follow all safety protocols related to driving heavy equipment or commercial vehicles, including manual transmission operation when applicable
  • Assist with moving or transporting supplies within the facility using warehouse experience or heavy equipment operation skills as needed

Qualifications

  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; experience with commercial vehicle operation preferred
  • Proven experience in driving shuttle buses, delivery trucks, or similar vehicles such as box trucks or tractor-trailers
  • Mechanical knowledge to perform basic vehicle inspections and troubleshoot minor issues; familiarity with manual transmissions is a plus
  • Strong communication skills to interact professionally with clients and team members
  • Ability to load & unload cargo safely using equipment like pallet jacks or forklifts; warehouse experience is advantageous
  • Knowledge of route driving techniques for efficient scheduling and timely arrivals; experience with heavy haul or freight transport is beneficial
  • Prior experience in school bus driving, paratransit services, or military driving roles highly valued
