A Tenex Portfolio Company is seeking a General Manager to join our platform. The GM must have extensive knowledge of all aspects of the residential services industry. You will be responsible for managing the overall operations of the business, including the administration, technical and sales departments. You will ensure that you and your staff meet and exceed our standards for excellent customer service. You will be responsible for coordinating efficiently and cooperatively with all departments, to meet and exceed yearly sales goals. Your strong leadership skills, industry knowledge, and business acumen will contribute to the company's overall performance and profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

Business Strategy and Planning:

  • Develop and implement business strategies and plans to achieve company goals and objectives.
  • Identify opportunities for business expansion, market penetration, and revenue growth.
  • Conduct market research, analyze industry trends, and adjust strategies accordingly.
  • Create annual budgets, monitor financial performance, and take corrective actions as needed.

Operations Management:

  • Oversee day-to-day operations and ensure smooth workflow and efficient resource utilization.
  • Develop and implement operational policies, procedures, and standards to enhance productivity.
  • Monitor project timelines, budgets, and quality standards to meet or exceed client expectations.
  • Collaborate with the team to optimize service delivery and identify areas for process improvement.

Team Leadership and Development:

  • Recruit, train, and mentor a skilled workforce to deliver high-quality services.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and support to employees, fostering a positive work environment.
  • Set performance objectives, conduct performance evaluations, and implement career development plans.
  • Promote teamwork, encourage professional growth, and resolve conflicts as they arise.

Customer Relationship Management:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring their satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to identify and capitalize on business opportunities.
  • Address customer concerns and resolve issues promptly and effectively.
  • Implement strategies to enhance the customer experience and foster long-term partnerships.

Financial Management:

  • Manage financial resources, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
  • Monitor key financial indicators and implement strategies to improve profitability.
  • Review financial reports, identify variances, and develop corrective actions as needed.
  • Maintain awareness of industry pricing trends and adjust pricing strategies accordingly.

Safety and Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, codes, and safety standards.
  • Promote a culture of safety and implement best practices to minimize risks.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections, provide training, and enforce safety protocols

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration or related field required.
  • Proven experience in a multi-site, managerial role within the residential services or related industry.
  • Strong business acumen and understanding of financial management principles.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficiency in project management and operational processes.
  • Knowledge of landscaping techniques, materials, and equipment.
  • Familiarity with relevant laws, regulations, and safety standards.
  • Problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Location:
Ideal candidates will live in the Greenville, SC area and have the ability to travel up to 75% of the time.
