with our commercial real estate client in Richardson, TX. This is a 12-month contract with a potential for extension.

Pay:
$ $63.11/hr

M-F 8am - 5pm, with some flexibility in work times to accommodate alternate schedules

Description:
Primary responsibilities include facilitating discovery, planning, design, documentation, and implementation of network infrastructure for mergers and acquisitions (M&A) activities. Experience with active network equipment replacement for modernization or M&A activities is required. This includes assessing and documenting the current network environment, establishing a design replacement using client standards, planning and coordinating resources for a transition to new network infrastructure.

Primary technical platform experience should include Cisco route and switch, Cisco SDWAN, Cisco and Juniper wireless, Palo Alto firewall, Cisco Meraki, and various data circuit connectivity. This experience should include configuring, testing, and validating each platform during deployment.

Will lead M&A projects requiring coordination, planning, and implementation of complex requirements. Supports documentation updates, training material, and transitioning support to Operational resources. Interacts with team members, peers, leadership, and customers to support, engineer, and troubleshoot network environments.

  • Candidates will be working independently and as part of a greater team managing the overall the project.

Resource's typical working day:

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Equivalent years' (4+) experience supporting modernization and M&A integration activities.
  • Technical knowledge and working experience, designing, configuring, deploying and maintaining various Cisco switching platforms to include Cisco Catalyst 9k, 39xx, 38xx, 29xx chassis and stack-based switches.
  • Technical knowledge and working experience, designing, configuring, deploying and maintaining various Cisco Meraki gateway and switch technology to include Cisco Meraki MX and MS product line.
  • Technical knowledge and working experience supporting most common routing protocols, OSPF, BGP, IGRP, RPVST+, VPC).
  • Technical knowledge and working experience, deploying, configuring and maintaining network security appliances (Palo Alto Firewalls, IPS/IDS/IPDS, IPsec, SSL VPN, URL Filtering/Layer 7 policies, NAC).
  • Technical knowledge and working experience designing, configurating, maintaining and provisioning of various WAN topologies (MPLS, VPLS/EVC, DIA, DWDM, Point to Point)
  • Technical knowledge and working experience configurating and maintaining IPAM solutions, DNS, DHCP and Certificate Authority management and support.
  • Technical knowledge and troubleshooting experience with network monitoring protocols and/or systems (TAPs, SNMP, IP Helper, Syslog, NetFlow, IP SLA, etc.) as well as experience performing deep packet inspection and root cause analysis using packet capture software.
  • Technical knowledge and working experience configuring and maintaining Cisco SDWAN, preferred (Meraki, Viptela), as well as experience with other SDWAN solutions
  • Working experience creating utilization reports leveraging netflow tools to monitor utilization, establish baseline information that will be used to make business decisions around capacity management.
  • Technical knowledge and working experience configuring and maintaining Cisco and Juniper wireless technologies, experience with 802.11a, b, g, n, ac and ax, 2.4 and 5Ghz frequencies, and wireless optimization configurations for optimized client servicing, roaming and location services.

RESPONSIBILITES

  • Your expertise will require experience in converting legacy or non-standard network infrastructure to  standard network infrastructure that include discovery, documentation, design, configuration and implementation of associated network infrastructure.
  • You will be required to assess, plan and solution network designs to support M&A activities.
  • You will Client and document existing network infrastructure to include equipment type, active ports, circuit connectivity and the system types that are connected.
  • You will establish a design (to include all specific variables) based on discovery documentation that aligns with client standards.
  • You will peer review the design with Sr. Network Engineers for accuracy and sign-off.
  • You will create site installation diagrams to support installation and support activities.
  • You will rack and configure equipment specific to the established and approved design to include all routers, switches, firewalls, wireless configurations and any out of band devices.
  • You will box and ship equipment to designated location where equipment is to be installed.
  • You will either install or coordinate the installation of the equipment to include out of band equipment.
  • You will order, provision and connect all connectivity associated with location.
  • You will validate access, configurations and test failover capabilities according to test plan.
  • You will cutover site to new infrastructure and provide cutover support.
  • You will ensure that system monitoring has been established.
  • You will finalize documentation and submit to Engineering Operations to transition site to support.
  • You will configure, support and monitor Network segmentation solutions for all actively applied policies for network attached devices.
  • You will support troubleshooting of reported issues, assist with root cause analysis, for application performance, congested bandwidth, network access problems for all on-premises and cloud environments as well as escalation support to Network Operations personnel.
  • Assist with the design, engineering, installation and maintenance of listed disciplines and systems.
  • Effectively communicate with project managers, direct management/team members and team members from other groups either via email, IM or through face-to-face interactions.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in a related field of work or equivalent work experience. Requires technical and business knowledge in multiple disciplines/processes. Typically has 4 - 6 years of relevant work experience.
  • Technical certifications in the specialty area, such as Cisco, Palo Alto or Network centric competencies.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and analytical skills. Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable and courteous service to customers. Ability to effectively present information.

FINANCIAL KNOWLEDGE

  • Requires advanced knowledge of financial terms and principles. Ability to calculate intermediate figures such as percentages, discounts, and commissions. Conducts advanced financial analysis.
