Please note, this is not an entry level position and is not a remote role.
What You'll DoAs an Architectural Drafter II, you will play a key role in preparing construction drawings and supporting our design and drafting efforts. Your work helps ensure our homes meet standards of quality, structural integrity, and community requirements.
You will:
Prepare complete construction plans from standard plans, sketches, and written specifications—including details and sections.
Develop and produce architectural plans for townhomes and duplexes, including floorplans, elevations, and sections.
Revise plans based on management review comments and change orders.
Coordinate and review truss and beam designs with external vendors.
Maintain and update our standard plan portfolio.
Review plans for compliance with community requirements, municipal codes, and Landmark Homes drafting standards.
Coordinate the engineering review and sealing of construction documents.
Support the Drafting Manager with additional tasks as needed.
We're looking for someone with a strong foundation in architectural drafting and the desire to grow into more complex work.
Required competencies:
CAD proficiency and/or a related technical trade certificate, or an Associate's degree in Residential Architectural Drafting or a related field.
2–5 years of residential drafting experience.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and drafting software.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
High attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to self-manage, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
You'll primarily work in a modern office setting, with occasional visits to construction areas requiring standard PPE (e.g., hard hat, protective eyewear). Noise levels vary from mild to moderate depending on location.
Physical RequirementsThis position requires regular sitting, computer work, and occasional standing, walking on different surfaces, kneeling, crouching, stair climbing, and lifting up to 25 lbs. Close vision and the ability to adjust focus are essential.
