Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Tile Setter/installer to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and finishing tile surfaces across a variety of commercial and residential projects. Your expertise will help bring architectural visions to life by ensuring precise, durable, and aesthetically pleasing tile work. Duties

  • Measure, cut, and install tiles using hand tools and power tools with precision and care.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings to determine layout and installation requirements.
  • Prepare surfaces by cleaning, leveling, and applying necessary materials such as mortar or adhesive.
  • Ensure proper sealing, caulking, and grouting to achieve a finished look that is both functional and visually appealing.
  • Collaborate with project managers, carpenters, plumbers, electricians, and other trades to coordinate installation processes seamlessly.
  • Conduct inspections during installation to ensure adherence to building codes, safety standards, and project specifications.
  • Operate heavy equipment when necessary for surface preparation or material transportation.
  • Fabricate custom tile pieces or modifications as needed for unique architectural features or repairs.
  • Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and debris regularly throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Assist in remodeling, restoration projects, or specialized installations such as glass or fixture setups when required.

Experience

Candidates should possess substantial experience working on construction sites with a focus on tile laying or related trades such as masonry or flooring installation. Familiarity with blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and construction management practices is essential. Experience with a wide range of construction techniques—including concrete finishing, plastering, framing carpentry, roofing, stucco application, drywall installation, and welding—is highly valued. Proficiency with hand tools like trowels and levels as well as power tools such as saws and grinders is necessary for efficient performance. Ideal candidates will have knowledge of construction estimating processes and construction inspection standards to ensure quality control throughout each project phase. Additional skills in plumbing or electrical work can be advantageous for integrated project tasks. Experience operating heavy equipment or working with specialized materials like glass or fixtures will set applicants apart. This role requires strong communication skills for reading blueprints and schematics accurately while collaborating effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
