IST Precision Inc ) is a precision engineering and manufacturing company established 2001 in North Carolina that focuses on the design of advanced automation equipment and product development. We are located in Mooresville NC. We are seeking a full-time technician with electrical and mechanical experience. Desired skills include basic circuit design, soldering capability, lab experience, troubleshooting circuit boards, mechanical assembly, and experience with manual milling machines (conversational control). This person would work with vendors and a team of engineers in advanced electro-mechanical R&D projects. A background in mechanical CAD software and drafting wiring diagrams would be considered a plus.

What we are looking for from the candidate:

  • Must be United States Citizen
  • with at least a 2-year technical degree or a 4-year Engineering technology degree
  • Expected to have at least 2 years manufacturing or R&D technical experience
  • Lab experience with using oscilloscopes, multimeters and soldering tools
  • Experience with Arduino firmware, PLC programming in automation and/or mechanical CAD software is a plus
  • Hands on experience soldering boards and cable connectors
  • Hands on experience assembling, diagnosing, and problem-solving mechanical systems.
  • Must understand blueprints and shop orders and other technical documents (preferably both electric prints and mechanical prints)
  • Must have the ability to use technical measuring equipment such as calipers, mic, scales, etc.
  • Demonstrated analytical, experimental, and problem-solving skills.
  • Highly innovative, self-motivated, and able to conduct research with minimal supervision/ oversight.
  • Flexibility & adaptability – Ability to manage multiple priorities and change as required.
  • Critical thinking & problem-solving w/ strong attention to detail – Ability to question, analyze, evaluate, and synthesize information from multiple sources to provide recommendation on paths forward
  • Affinity for technology/Technical understanding – Easily grasps new technical concepts; Shows curiosity for technology.

· Initiative – Doesn't wait to be told. Anticipates issues and proactively works to prevent or resolve them. Operates well independently. Flexibility & adaptability – Ability to manage multiple priorities and change as required.
