The primary focus of the position is project work for the development of engineering studies, design reports, construction documents, and construction oversight/ administration related to water and wastewater infrastructure in the municipal and industrial markets in Texas and across the country.
Your Impact
- Will work under the mentorship and guidance of Senior Engineers
- Provide basic engineering services in support of planning, studies, analysis, and design of water distribution and wastewater collection systems, which may include pump/lift stations, groundwater wells, storage reservoirs, and treatment systems
- Prepare plans water distribution and wastewater collection systems, write specifications, analysis and study-level reports, determine appropriate design methods, equipment sizing and selection, under instruction from the Project Engineer
- Setup and perform hydraulic modeling for water and wastewater systems
- Work with CAD designers to prepare plans/drawings for water and wastewater infrastructure systems using industry-standard design platforms, such as AutoCAD, Civil3D, Revit, OpenRoads Designer, etc. Ability to use CAD software is considered a plus
- Check design computations and quantity estimates
- Assist in client contacts pertaining to specific projects
- Limited field work and regional travel to project sites may be required
- Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs
Who You Are
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree from an ABET accredited program in Civil, Mechanical or Environmental Engineering.
- Engineer in Training Certification or the ability to get certification within 6 months of hiring.
- 0 to 1+ years related and relevant experience.
- Applicant must possess strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to work on multiple, unique assignments simultaneously. Advanced spreadsheet skills a plus.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to an engineering and non-engineering audience.
- Must be team-oriented, hardworking, and intent on doing great work
- Be responsibility for engineering quality and project team success.
- Be goal oriented.
- Ability and willingness to travel occasionally to project sites
- Must pass background check
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience utilizing engineering design software such as AutoCAD, Civil3D, Revit, etc.
- Experience utilizing standard computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook, and PowerPoint is required.
- Prior internship related to the degree of study and the specific engineering discipline.
