Schedule: Full-Time | Monday–Friday, 8:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m.
(Occasional early morning or evening hours as needed for weather or building emergencies)
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

What You'll Be Doing
As a Custodian at IPHNY, you'll be responsible for maintaining our facilities with a full-building mindset, ensuring every area is clean, safe, and welcoming. Your work will include:
- Cleaning from top to bottom — inside and outside of each building
- Daily cleaning and sanitizing of shelters, offices, bathrooms, kitchens, and common areas
- Detailed cleaning of windows, door frames, baseboards, fixtures, vents, and hard-to-reach areas
- Sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and disinfecting all floors and high-touch surfaces
- Performing scheduled deep cleans and quarterly cleaning projects to maintain high standards
- Removing trash and recycling and restocking cleaning and hygiene supplies
- Exterior upkeep including walkways, entrances, grounds care, and snow removal
- Identifying and reporting maintenance or safety concerns promptly
- Assisting with minor repairs, furniture moves, deliveries, and event setup/cleanup
- Providing custodial support across multiple IPHNY sites as needed
What We're Looking For
Required:
- Strong work ethic with a whole-building, top-to-bottom cleaning mentality
- Exceptional attention to detail — a must for success in this role
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and follow schedules
- Knowledge of basic cleaning methods and safe chemical use
- Valid, clean driver's license
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physical tasks safely
Preferred (but not required):
- Experience with deep cleaning, quarterly cleaning cycles, or facility-wide maintenance
- Prior custodial, janitorial, or facilities experience
- Strong communication and organizational skills
We provide training on equipment, deep-cleaning techniques, safety protocols, and IPHNY standards.
