Job Overview

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Early Childhood Special EducationTeacher and/or Teacher of Students with Visual Impairment to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education and a commitment to fostering a nurturing and stimulating environment for young learners. This role involves developing and implementing engaging lesson plans, improving sensory efficiency skills, and supporting the diverse needs of children.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement experiences in subject areas within the expanded core curriculum that promotes literacy, communication and sensory exploration.
  • Facilitate in-home and community outings to create positive learning experiences.
  • Provide individualized support for children with blindness, deaf-blindness and additional disabilities, including those with autism, adhd and/or developmental disabilities.
  • Conduct assessments and maintain records of student progress, including documentation.
  • Collaborate with parents and other educators and therapist to support child welfare and development.
  • Utilize learning technology to enhance educational experiences.
  • Plan and execute lessons that incorporate early intervention strategies.
  • Foster communication skills through interactive activities and behavioral techniques.
  • Maintain a safe and organized experiences conducive to learning.

Skills

  • Ability to create an effective learning experience in homes and community spaces.
  • Experience in curriculum development tailored for early childhood education.
  • Knowledge of learning strategies for engaging profoundly impacted children.
  • Familiarity with Montessori methods, child lead play, and theme based curriculum.
  • Proficient in lesson planning that aligns with individual needs.
  • Excellent communication skills for interacting with children, parents, and colleagues.
  • Understanding of childhood development theories and practices.
  • Experience working with students in daycare, preschool, or private school settings.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $ $75.00 per hour

Expected hours: 5 – 20 per week
