Position Title: AP Biology Teacher (Advanced Placement Biology Instructor)

Compensation: Compensation is based on the number of assigned students, with opportunities for increased earnings based on workload. Detailed salary information will be provided during the interview process.

Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced, passionate, and knowledgeable AP Biology teacher to join our team. This role involves delivering high-quality instruction through online platforms, equipping students with a comprehensive understanding of biological concepts, fostering analytical and critical thinking, and preparing them for success in the AP Biology exam.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and deliver engaging lesson plans aligned with the College Board AP Biology curriculum standards.
  • Conduct interactive online classes using platforms such as Zoom, Google Meet, or Microsoft Teams.
  • Develop and utilize instructional materials, including presentations, reading assignments, virtual lab simulations, and practice problems.
  • Use learning management systems (e.g., Canvas, Google Classroom) to assign and grade tasks, track student progress, and provide feedback.
  • Provide targeted exam preparation, focusing on question formats, test-taking strategies, and practice tests.
  • Offer personalized feedback and learning strategies to address individual student needs.
  • Communicate regularly with students and parents about progress and provide tailored recommendations for improvement.
  • Participate in professional development sessions and collaborate with the curriculum team to enhance course content.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Biology or a related field (Master's degree or higher preferred).
  • Minimum of 2 years of high school biology teaching experience; experience teaching AP Biology is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with College Board AP Biology curriculum standards, including laboratory requirements and exam structure.
  • Proven experience with online teaching platforms and tools.
  • Strong communication and classroom management skills, with the ability to inspire students' curiosity and engagement in biology.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to provide individualized instruction and support.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Completion of College Board AP Biology training or certification.
  • Experience guiding students through virtual lab simulations or hands-on experiments.
  • Ability to connect biological concepts to real-world applications, making learning relatable and engaging.
  • Experience teaching additional related courses, such as Chemistry or Environmental Science.
