Lead Journeyman Electrician

Precision Wire & Control (PWC) is seeking a highly skilled and versatile Lead Journeyman Electrician to join our team. This position is responsible for the safe and effective installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and remodeling of electrical systems across a variety of environments. The ideal candidate will possess advanced hands-on skills in commercial and industrial electrical construction and will perform the foundational electrical work required before systems and handed off the Electrical Controls or Industrial Automation Technicians.
PWC's Lead Electrician is hourly paid and full-time regular work and candidates will live within commuting distance to Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.
What PWC's Lead Journeyman Electrician will do:
- Able to oversee a team of 3-5 electricians
- Install, modify, and maintain electrical systems and components in new construction and existing facilities.
- Support project cleanup and restoration efforts following electrical work completion. This daily key responsibility must be done efficiently.
- Perform layout and planning of electrical systems according to drawings, blueprints, and electrical code specifications.
- Troubleshoot electrical malfunctions using appropriate test equipment and diagnostic techniques.
- Execute repairs including replacing faulty wiring, circuit breakers, switches, lighting, and other components.
- Prepare electrical systems for industrial automation and control integration.
- Perform demolition of electrical infrastructure safely.
- Operate power tools and heavy equipment as needed.
- Pull wire, bend conduit (EMT, RMC, PVC, etc.) and perform manual excavation where required.
- Read and interpret electrical and construction drawings.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable safety and electrical codes.
- Coordinate work with other trades and project managers to ensure timely and efficient job progress.
- All candidates will be expected to perform duties with great customer service and care
Required qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum of four (4) years' experience in electrical construction.
- Proficient in the use of electrical tools, testing equipment, and materials.
- Have standard set of electrical tools including but not limited to drill, impact, diagonal pliers, screwdriver complete set, Linesman pliers, needle nose, channel locks, meters and testing equipment.
- Strong understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC).
- Good communication skills
- OSHA 10 Training minimum
- Capable of working in a physically demanding environment including:
- Lifting up to 50 lbs. on a consistent basis
- Working overhead and in confined spaces
- Standing, bending, and kneeling for extended periods of time
- Must be able to work environments with sometimes almost extreme temperatures of hot and cold
- Safely Working at elevations, using ladders, lifts and stairs.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience working in airports, theme parks, and other large commercial structures
- Familiarity with fire alarm and security systems
- Familiarity with electrical work involving programmable logic controls (PLCs)
- Electrical or engineering education
