Job Description

As a Security Officer - Tech Campus Patrols in Tampa, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol designated areas within a dynamic tech and media location. Your presence helps to deter security-related incidents while promoting a welcoming environment through excellent customer service and communication. You will conduct routine patrols, remain visible throughout your shift, and support the Allied Universal values of teamwork, reliability, and integrity. What You'll Do:

  • Provide exceptional customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures and following site-specific policies.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of the location, including both interior and exterior areas, to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of patrols, incidents, and observations as directed by supervisory staff.
  • Support emergency response activities as needed, including assisting with evacuations and/or access control during incidents.
  • Communicate professionally with clients, visitors, and team members to address concerns and provide information related to security-related matters.
  • Remain alert to changes in the environment and report any unusual activity or security-related concerns to the appropriate personnel.

Minimum Requirements:

  • X-ray screening experience is preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.
  • A guard card or license is preferred.
  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • CPR and/or first aid certification is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
