Along with teaching master's level art therapy courses, this position will include practicum/internship coordination.Instruction of graduate-level courses in art therapy.Mentoring and advising master's students.Serving as practicum/internship coordinatorSupporting the department chair and program director with accreditation processes.Engaging in meaningful service activities within the university and profession.QualificationsAcademic doctorate or highest level terminal degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate field of specialization, or equivalent qualifications based on professional experience and otherwise qualified to perform assigned duties.Board Certification (ATR-BC) through the Art Therapy Credentials Board.Demonstrated record of clinical art therapy experience.Experience in practicum/internship instruction or supervision.Preferred QualificationsLicensed or license-eligible in art therapy and/or a related mental health profession.Higher education teaching experience in art therapy.Familiarity with accreditation processes in higher education.Other InformationIn the Department of Art Education, we strive to empower minds and transform lives. It was initially approved by the American Art Therapy Association in 2004 and became accredited through the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) in January 2019. It is the only graduate level art therapy program in the state of Florida, and the only one housed in a state university in the Southeast region. The master's art therapy program has a highly competitive acceptance rate and attracts students from all over the world.The program emphasizes a strong theoretical foundation in art therapy, supported by practicum and internship experiences in education, correctional, community and clinical settings.
