Description

Job Summary:   Under the direction of the Staff Pharmacist, the Pharmacy Technician assists in the pharmacy operations functions including distribution services, IV Admixture services, inventory control and storage and provides support to the patient care areas as related to Pharmacy Services.

Required Education:  Graduate of an A.C.P.E. accredited college of pharmacy. Completion of a Pharmacy Technician training program is strongly preferred.  

Required Licensure: Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) and registration with the Mississippi Board of Pharmacy is required.

Experience: Prior critical care or intensive care experience is preferred. 

Required Skills, Knowledge, Abilities:  Knowledge of pharmacy practice.  Knowledge of specialized skills required in a hospital practice.  Clinical knowledge adequate to perform drug utilization evaluations and clinical interventions.
