Job Summary

We are seeking a friendly and motivated Retail Sales Associate to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional customer service, assist customers with product selections, and ensure the sales floor is well-maintained. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop retail skills in a dynamic environment, with responsibilities including product demonstrations, merchandising, and cash handling. Bilingual abilities and prior retail experience are a plus, but a positive attitude and strong communication skills are essential. The Retail Sales Associate plays a vital role in creating a welcoming shopping experience and driving sales growth.

Duties

  • Greet customers warmly and assist them with their shopping needs
  • Operate POS systems efficiently for sales transactions, returns, and exchanges
  • Conduct product demos to educate customers about features and benefits
  • Upsell complementary products to enhance customer satisfaction and increase sales
  • Maintain attractive merchandise displays through merchandising and stocking
  • Manage inventory levels by restocking shelves and organizing stock areas
  • Provide excellent customer service by answering questions and resolving concerns
  • Handle cash transactions accurately, including cash handling and cashiering duties
  • Assist with phone etiquette to respond to inquiries professionally
  • Support supervising staff during busy periods or when needed

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in retail sales or grocery store environments is preferred
  • Strong communication skills, including bilingual abilities, are advantageous
  • Familiarity with POS systems, cashiering, and retail math is beneficial
  • Ability to perform basic math calculations accurately for transactions
  • Experience with product demos, upselling, merchandising, and stock management is a plus
  • Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, professional demeanor
  • Ability to work well in a team environment and adapt to changing priorities
  • Basic knowledge of phone etiquette and effective communication techniques
  • Prior supervising experience is desirable but not required
  • Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible hours as needed
