Janitor/Cleaner

Job Summary:

The Janitor/Cleaner is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly environment throughout the facility. This position performs a variety of cleaning and maintenance tasks to ensure all areas—such as offices, restrooms, common areas, and workspaces—are kept in excellent condition. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and takes pride in their work.

Key Responsibilities:

• Sweep, mop, vacuum, and clean floors in assigned areas.
• Dust and wipe down surfaces, furniture, fixtures, and equipment.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms, including toilets, sinks, mirrors, and floors.
• Empty and dispose of trash, recycling, and waste bins according to procedures.
• Refill paper products, soap dispensers, and other restroom or kitchen supplies.
• Clean windows, glass doors, and partitions as needed.
• Report any maintenance issues, safety hazards, or needed repairs promptly.
• Follow proper cleaning procedures and use cleaning chemicals safely.
• Maintain cleaning equipment and supplies in good working order.
• Adhere to health and safety regulations and company standards at all times.

Qualifications:

Required:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Prior janitorial or custodial experience (1+ year preferred but not required).
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods.
• Basic understanding of cleaning chemicals and safe handling procedures.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team.

Preferred:

• Experience in commercial, industrial, or institutional cleaning.
• Knowledge of floor care equipment (e.g., buffers, auto scrubbers).

Work Environment:

• Work may include exposure to cleaning chemicals, dust, and odors.
• May require early mornings, evenings, weekends, or holiday shifts depending on facility needs.
• Uniform and protective equipment provided.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $ $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10 – 15 per week
