Central District Health (CDH) is currently recruiting for a Medical Assistant to join our dedicated group of public health professionals in our medical clinic located in our Boise office. Typical Duties:

  • Perform a variety of clinic support duties such as taking vitals (temperature, blood pressure, pulse, height and weight);
  • Prepare clients for clinician visit; pre-visit preparation to include chart reviews, checking on existing referrals, scheduling pre-visit labs;
  • Administer injections/immunizations to clients across the life span;
  • Obtain client intake information such as medical, social and familial histories and document in an electronic health record;
  • Perform specimen collection/lab draws for testing;
  • Prepare exam rooms by cleaning and setting up equipment, keeping rooms stocked with supplies and preparing examination tables;
  • Prepare quality control measures on designated clinic equipment and maintain record of results;
  • May perform reception or routine clerical duties such as filling out forms, answer telephones, checking in or checking out clients and scheduling appointments or follow-up appointments using an electronic health record;
  • Under the direction of a clinician, may perform minor procedures involving sterilization and/or infection control;
  • Conducting patient follow-up calls as directed by provider and clinic team;
  • Actively participate in assessing clinic workflows and opportunities to improve efficiencies;
  • Ability to work under changing environment and schedules - may be asked to work at an offsite clinic or to work a later clinic schedule as need indicates;
  • Maintain client confidentiality and HIPAA;
  • Promote other department services as applicable.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Willingness to complete an in-house medical assistant training program to ensure you meet the core competencies required for this position (The training will be a part of your paid work time and will be completed during your standard work hours).

Desirable Qualification:

  • Successful completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program and certification or registration by either the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or American Medical Technologists (AMT) or American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA);
  • Ability to speak, read, write Spanish and English.
