Responsibilities

The Maintenance Assistant works on general maintenance projects at our clinical and residential facilities. The Maintenance Assistant performs a variety of responsibilities to maintain the facilities in an orderly and safe condition, including general and finish carpentry, basic plumbing, minor electrical and heating/air conditioning repairs, servicing large and small appliances, drywall repair and painting, and routine maintenance procedures. Work is full time during the weekdays.

Work is full time during the weekdays, Monday - Friday from 7:30am to 4:30pm, Part Time, On Call/Per Diem. 

• Performs general maintenance and minor repairs.
• Performs safety check of residential facilities and submits report to management.
• Inspects grounds daily and ensures that alley ways, driveways, sidewalks, parking areas and grounds are clear and free of debris and potential hazards.
• When cleaning the facilities, may use equipment, including but not limited to ladders, scaffolding, vacuum cleaners, floor polisher, hand tools, broom, cloths, sponges, dollies, and containers of cleaning solutions weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Assists with disinfecting areas by scrubbing or spraying as needed. Follows infection control guidelines. Requires fine motor coordination to manipulate spray bottles and other hand supplies.
• Assists Maintenance Supervisor as needed.
  

Qualifications

Experience and Education

• Educational Background: High school graduation or G.E.D. required. Must be at least 18 years of age. 
• Work Experience:  Experience is preferred
