Overview

We are seeking a Kitchen Lead to oversee daily kitchen operations in a fast-paced boutique hotel environment. This role is hands-on and operational, responsible for food quality, execution, cleanliness, and supporting the culinary team during service. The Kitchen Lead works closely with Operations and Food & Beverage leadership to ensure consistency, efficiency, and high standards across breakfast, lunch, and event service.

Responsibilities:

Kitchen Operations

  • Lead daily kitchen operations during assigned shifts
  • Ensure timely and accurate food execution during service
  • Maintain consistency, presentation, and food quality standards
  • Support menu execution for breakfast, lunch, and events

Team Leadership

  • Supervise kitchen staff during service
  • Assist with training new hires and coaching team members
  • Ensure proper communication between kitchen and front-of-house teams
  • Lead by example with professionalism and work ethic

Food Safety & Cleanliness

  • Enforce food safety, sanitation, and health code standards
  • Ensure proper food storage, labeling, and temperature control
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen environment
  • Complete daily cleaning and closing checklists

Inventory & Cost Control

  • Assist with inventory counts and receiving deliveries
  • Monitor product usage and reduce waste
  • Report shortages, quality issues, or equipment concerns
  • Follow standardized recipes and portion controls

Administrative & Reporting

  • Complete daily prep lists and production planning
  • Communicate operational needs to management
  • Support special events and group functions as needed

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of kitchen experience, preferably in hotels, restaurants, or beach clubs
  • Strong knowledge of food safety and kitchen operations
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Reliable, organized, and detail-oriented
  • Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 40 lbs
  • Flexible availability including weekends and holidays
