Job Description

As a Security Officer - Armed Retail Patrol in Newark, NJ, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a retail location, you will conduct routine patrols to help deter security-related incidents and maintain a secure environment for customers and staff. You will remain highly visible, provide outstanding customer service, and respond to situations as needed. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, following site-specific policies, and responding to emergency situations as appropriate.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm and problem-solving manner.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout the retail location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor entrances, exits, and common areas to help to deter theft, trespassing, and other unwanted activities.
• Maintain detailed records of incidents, observations, and activities during each shift.
• Communicate and collaborate with store staff and management regarding security-related concerns and potential risks.
• Remain alert and prepared to respond to situations requiring an armed security-related presence, following all Allied Universal protocols.

Minimum Requirements:

• A valid concealed carry weapons permit is required.
• At least one year of armed security-related, law enforcement, or military experience is required.
• An armed guard card or license is required.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Loss prevention experience is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
