Position Summary

The Technician – Quality is responsible for inspecting FANUC products to ensure conformance with engineering specifications. This role supports quality processes that enhance product reliability, manufacturing effectiveness, and overall customer satisfaction.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Perform accurate and detailed inspections of parts and assemblies
  • Identify, document, and communicate non-conformances using appropriate technical terminology (written and verbal)
  • Review, disposition, and process non-conforming material transactions
  • Communicate non-conforming material conditions with suppliers, buyers, and engineers
  • Track and follow up on corrective actions to ensure closure and effectiveness
  • Apply working knowledge of machine tool fundamentals, including mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems
  • Support additional quality-related functions within Operations (e.g., workmanship standards, packaging requirements)

Required Skills & Knowledge

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while contributing to KPI objectives
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, including GD&T
  • Strong written and verbal communication of technical information
  • Proficient use of mechanical and electrical inspection and measuring tools
  • Ability to perform calibration of hand tools and interpret results
  • Working knowledge of structured problem-solving tools and techniques
  • Strong interpersonal skills; results-driven, collaborative, and dependable
  • Reliable and consistent attendance

Education & Experience

  • Associate degree or technical certificate in Engineering, Quality, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in a quality assurance or inspection role
  • Previous experience as a machinist, machine builder, or assembler preferred
  • Working knowledge of joystick-operated CMM equipment
  • Experience with Modus or Verisurf CMM inspection software preferred
