Job Summary
The Patient Scheduling Representative handles scheduling desk and patient access responsibilities for Imaging Services outpatient clinics. This includes scheduling patients and creating accounts in scheduling applications, checking in patients, preparing charts, submitting authorizations for imaging services, collecting payments, obtaining electronic signatures for consent and financial agreements. Enters referrals, Medicare certifications, and authorization details. Provides excellent customer service to patients through phone calls, emails, and in-person interactions is essential. Prioritizes work assignments in a fast-paced, high-volume work environment.
Minimum Job Requirements:
Work Experience:
One year of experience in administrative roles, including responsibilities related to patient registration, scheduling, and managing electronic medical records (EMR) is required. Experience in a customer service role, preferably in a healthcare setting, demonstrating strong interpersonal skills and a service-oriented approach is required.
License/Registration/Certification:
None.
Education and Training:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Skills:
Ability to interact positively and effectively with patients, families, and staff.
Strong commitment to providing excellent service and addressing patient needs.
Clear verbal and written communication for conveying information to patients and colleagues.
Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and maintain attention to detail.
Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems and scheduling software.
Capacity to address patient concerns and find solutions in a timely manner.
Ability to work well with healthcare professionals and contribute to a team-oriented environment.
Skills in efficiently managing time to meet deadlines and handling a fast-paced work environment.
Flexibility to adjust to changing situations and patient needs.
Understanding of patient privacy regulations and commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
