Pay: $20 per hour
Summary
This position is responsible for supporting the manager in completing all activities directly connected to the Gill Family Resource Center. This position includes a mix of administrative and program duties. This position requires flexibility of schedule as it includes some evening and weekend work. This is an in-person, full-time, year-round, hourly position averaging 35 hours/week and includes occasional evening and weekend hours with schedules finalized at least 2 weeks in advance.
Main Job Responsibilities
Program Support
- Support food pantry and diaper bank, assist with completing reports and collecting data, and servicing guests.
- Assist with planning and implementation of community engagement events including but not limited to Summer Meals, Safe Summer Kick Off, Beyond the Book Bag and seasonal drives.
- Collaborate with Program Manager to evaluate and develop strategies and systems to support quality community programs and services.
- Ensure effective, accurate and timely data collection reflecting all program activities, attendance, and participation. Review data for improvement, develop strategies and implement. Compile program statistics, data, and reports to maintain or make appropriate programmatic adjustments.
- Remain current with community resources in order to provide support, guidance, resources, and referrals to families.
- Effectively support and articulate COA's vision, mission, core programing, outcomes and impact to staff, youth, families, volunteers and community partners.
- Welcome visitors and service recipients in an inclusive, respectful and responsive way.
- Create a clean, safe, comfortable, and welcoming atmosphere for visitors.
- Maintain the physical state of all program space and equipment by practicing safety, cleanliness, and inventory control. Ensure adequate supplies on hand for programs.

Role model appropriate behavior at all times. This includes developing and maintaining appropriate professional relationships with youth, colleagues, parents, facilitators, community members, etc.
Qualifications
Education/Knowledge/Experience
- An Associate's Degree in Human Services or related field is preferred but not required.
- Experience serving a diverse population is required.
- Must be computer literate: able to use Word to create, edit and format documents and flyers as well as Excel to enter in and manipulate data.
- Required: Must be at least 23 years old with a valid Wisconsin driver's license, reliable personal vehicle, and an acceptable driving record. Proof of auto insurance is also required and must be maintained for the duration of employment.

Physical Requirements / Working Conditions
The physical requirements are:
- Ability to sit and stand for long periods of time
- Ability to engage physically with participants (e.g., run, play, etc.)
- Ability to lift/move 50 pounds on a regular basis
- Ability to push, pull and carry using arms and legs
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and use hands to touch, handle, or feel. The employee is occasionally required to stand and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus.
The work environment is an active environment with urban youth and families in a variety of settings. This requires the ability to respond quickly to changing situations and be able to move around the COA site as needed. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. This position also requires evening and weekend work.
