Position Title: Aftermarket Assistant Manager

Job Identification:

Salary: $21.00 Hourly

Job Summary:

The Aftermarket Assistant Manger will assist the Aftermarket Manager to maximize revenue from the sale of salvage, recyclable material, and excess donated goods. Assists in the direction and supervision of all facets of the outlet store, production and salvage/recycling department.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Manages the warehouse in the absence of the Aftermarket Manager.
  • Coordinates and oversees the day-to-day workflow of employees.
  • Assists the Aftermarket Manager with interviews. Selectively hiring and training staff.
  • Supervises employees, providing coaching and mentorship to optimize productivity, increase sales, and support the mission.
  • As requested by the Aftermarket Manager, conducts or assists with performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
  • Assists the Aftermarket Manager with employment actions, including discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Assists the Aftermarket Manager in monitoring employee performance, identifying and facilitating opportunities to increase productivity and efficiency.
  • Develops work schedules according to hours of operation.
  • Manages daily aspects of the warehouse and its staff to ensure projects are completed and goals and customer needs are met.
  • Drafts, submits, and presents various performance and management reports.
  • Handles funds properly as required for facility operations.
  • Operates the outlet store to achieve maximum revenue.
  • Addresses customer needs and resolves issues, ensuring positive and long-term customer relationships.
  • Maintains store security measures and takes appropriate actions on known and suspected theft.
  • Enforces safety practices and procedures and prepares related reports.
  • Leads team in conducting daily safety checks on equipment. Ensures that all employees comply with safety procedures.
  • Properly follows OSHA specifications regarding lockout/tagout procedures.
  • Schedules and oversee regular maintenance on all equipment. Monitors the condition of balers and schedule repairs as needed in cooperation with facilities manager.
  • Operates the production department to ensure stores have sufficient product available.
  • Schedule production for stores.
  • Negotiates with salvage buyers to ensure optimal profits. Sells all salvage and recyclable goods.
  • Maintains an accurate inventory of all salvage and recyclable items at the Lombard and Del Norte Warehouses.
  • Maintains recycling programs and files all reports required by state or federal agencies
  • Minimizes all landfill costs by optimizes recycling.
  • Manages conflicts and resolves complaints about or within the facility.
  • Responsible for a neat, clean and organized facility.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned that would lead to successful operation of department, team, and/or mission.

  • Background check required.
  • Bilingual preferred.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Strong leadership and management skills with ability to motivate staff.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service, sales, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to speak/read/write proficient English.
  • Basic mathematical skills, as needed to make change and give refunds.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Works well under pressure and with deadlines; ability to multitask.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to assign and delegate tasks.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Honesty, integrity, reliability, punctuality.
  • Steel Toe Shoes/Boots required.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • May need to work nights, weekends, and holidays on a rotating basis.
  • Thorough knowledge about company's mission and services, and customer-related policies.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods standing (up to 8 hours.)
  • Must be able to lift/pull/push up to 50 pounds at times.
  • Ability to bend/squat/stoop.
  • Ability to perform repetitive movements over long periods of time.
  • Free from drug and alcohol abuse.
