Job Overview

Insulation Commandos of Grand Rapids is hiring a Crew Chief / Lead Installer to lead residential and light commercial insulation projects.

This is a hands-on leadership role. You'll work in the field alongside your crew, take ownership of job quality and safety, and help set the standard for how work gets done. If you've led crews in insulation, roofing, siding, framing, or similar trades, this role offers stability, respect, and room to grow.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and work alongside an insulation installation crew
  • Perform insulation installs, removals, air sealing, and related work
  • Ensure jobs are completed safely, efficiently, and to company standards
  • Train and mentor installers on proper techniques and safety practices
  • Maintain job site cleanliness and professionalism
  • Communicate progress and issues with management

Required Experience

  • Experience in insulation, construction, roofing, siding, framing, or related trades
  • Prior crew lead or supervisory experience preferred
  • Comfortable working in attics, crawl spaces, and at heights
  • Strong work ethic and attention to detail
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift heavy materials and perform physically demanding work
  • Extended periods of standing, climbing, crawling, and working in confined spaces
  • Ability to work in varying weather and temperature conditions
