Position Summary:

LION Charter School seeks a dependable and detail-oriented School Porter (Per Diem) to support the cleanliness, safety, and daily upkeep of the school facility. This role supports school operations on an as-needed basis, primarily during evening hours, and plays an important role in maintaining a welcoming and well-maintained environment for students, staff, and families.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly school environment.
  • Support facilities operations through routine cleaning and light maintenance tasks.
  • Communicate facility needs, supply levels, and concerns to supervisors.
  • Follow all safety, security, and environmental guidelines.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities(included but not limited to):

  • Perform routine cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and restroom cleaning.
  • Restock paper goods, soap, and cleaning supplies as needed.
  • Empty trash and dispose of waste properly.
  • Maintain custodial equipment and supplies.
  • Assist with seasonal cleaning, snow removal, and minor maintenance tasks such as moving furniture or replacing light bulbs.
  • Provide access to vendors when necessary and report any facility concerns.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to lift at least 30 pounds .
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team.
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe and professional school environment.

Preferred Experience:

  • Prior experience in custodial, porter, or facilities roles, preferably in a school or similar setting.
  • Familiarity with cleaning equipment and basic maintenance tools.
  • Availability to work evening hours as needed.
    Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred

This is a Per Diem position, scheduled as needed during evening hours (4:00 PM – 8:00 PM). This role is not part-time and does not guarantee a set number of hours.
