Job Overview
As the Automation Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of automation projects, from conception to completion. You will work closely with our team of engineers, technicians, and project managers to design, develop, and implement automation solutions for our clients. You will also be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the automation department and ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the automation team, including engineers and technicians
- Develop and implement automation strategies and processes
- Design and develop automation systems and solutions based on client requirements
- Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of automation systems
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that may arise during the project
- Collaborate with project managers to ensure project timelines and budgets are met
- Train and mentor team members on new technologies and processes
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in automation technology
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies
- Maintain strong relationships with clients and provide excellent customer service
- Prepare and present project reports to management and clients
- Participate in business development activities, including proposal writing and client presentations
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in automation design and project management
- Strong knowledge of automation systems, such as PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA
- Experience with programming languages, such as ladder logic and structured text
- Proficient in AutoCAD and other design software
- Excellent project management and leadership skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of safety regulations and industry standards
- Willingness to travel to project sites as needed

Compensation Package
- This pay rate is the good-faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of this job posting. Carlton Electric reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted rate if they believe the new range is determined in good-faith. Carlton Electric reserves the right to adjust compensation based on, but not limited to, approved factors such as seniority, merit, quantity and/or quality systems, location, education and/or training, and required travel.
