Position Summary
The Senior IT Systems Administrator will work closely with the HR & Operations team to manage all aspects of HomeSight's Information Technology infrastructure. They will provide project management and strategic direction to ensure IT systems advance the needs of the organization IT systems, software and hardware. They will provide user support to staff and liaison with vendors to ensure systems are operating smoothly and issues are resolved effectively. They will be an effective communicator and a resourceful, organized team player within culturally diverse, mission-driven organization.
Activities
IT Infrastructure Management & Technical Support:
- Manage the maintenance, implementation, and upgrade of the company's IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, software, hardware, and applications.
- Coordinate with the IT systems maintenance vendor (Seitel Systems) to ensure the above activities are executed successfully and consistently.
- Provide front-line user support to HomeSight staff during business hours (Monday-Friday, 9:00am-5:00pm). Take the lead to ensure IT issues are resolved.
- Provide onsite management of IT equipment during HomeSight business hours (Monday-Friday, 9:00am-5:00pm).
- Create and maintain IT policies and procedures that ensure security compliance, standardize operations, and align with organizational risk management requirements.
- Provide clear communication of IT strategies, policies, and issues to staff, leadership and other stakeholders.
- Conduct regular security audits, implement measures to mitigate risks, and develop disaster recovery and backup plans to protect data.
- Manage IT procurement process to ensure hardware and software purchases align with organizational needs, budget constraints, and compliance requirements. Work with Finance department to resolve billing issues.
Project Management & Strategy:
- Partner with the IT systems maintenance vendor (Seitel Systems) on projects, such as system upgrades and new technology implementations, from planning to successful completion.
- Identify emerging technologies and industry trends to develop IT strategies and solutions that support organizational goals and improve efficiency.
- Work closely with senior leadership and department directors to assess the growth needs and system improvements.
- In collaboration with the Director of HR Strategy & Operations, set project goals, maintain project timeframes, budget estimates, and status reports.
REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- BA (4-year degree) in IT/computer science plus 2 years of work experience, or 6 years of IT systems administration experience.
- Strong knowledge of IT best practices, policies and regulations.
- Expert-level skills in Microsoft 365 applications.
- Website management experience.
- Proven project management experience, including defining project scope, managing timelines and budgets, coordinating cross-functional teams, and delivering successful outcomes.
- A clear understanding of client/server technology and network architecture and cybersecurity.
- Excellent communication skills with ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to maintain high confidentiality and adherence to business ethics.
- Ability to effectively work with all levels of employees and provide excellent customer service.
- Ability to work in an organized manner and with attention to detail.
- Ability to solve problems and remove barriers.
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $50.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 30 per week
