JOB SUMMARY:The Wireless Manager is responsible for the architecture, deployment, and lifecycle management of industrial and mission-critical wireless systems supporting Universal's global Ride & Show operations. This role leads design and integration efforts for Wi-Fi, private LTE/5G, point-to-point/multipoint RF links, and other wireless technologies that enable real-time control, monitoring, and performance across attractions, facilities, and connected infrastructure.
The position ensures wireless systems meet the highest standards of availability, safety, and performance while aligning with enterprise network and security frameworks. The role partners with ride controls, show systems, OT network engineering, and enterprise IT teams to deliver robust and compliant wireless connectivity solutions across complex, dynamic environments.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design and deploy industrial wireless networks supporting ride and show operations, facilities, and control systems. Ensure network reliability, low latency, and security through proper architecture, RF planning, and spectrum management.
- Lead testing and implementation of new wireless technologies which include private LTE/5G and Wi-Fi infrastructure, including backhaul integration, redundancy design, and QoS policies. Oversee vendors and contractors to ensure standards and specifications are met.
- Perform wireless performance audits and spectrum analysis to identify interference, optimize coverage, and enhance throughput in operational environments.
- Collaborate with OT cybersecurity and enterprise network teams to integrate wireless systems with secure access control, encryption, and segmentation. Develop and enforce wireless configuration baselines and access policies.
- Develop project documentation and standards including SOWs, RF design packages, commissioning reports, and as-built drawings. Maintain configuration management and asset tracking of all wireless components.
- Oversee vendor and integrator partnerships, ensuring delivery of robust and scalable wireless solutions. Conduct technical reviews, factory acceptance tests, and site commissioning oversight. Support research and development initiatives exploring next-generation wireless technologies (e.g., Time-Sensitive Networking, deterministic Wi-Fi, mesh architectures) for attraction and facility use cases.
- Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

Proven experience managing industrial or mission-critical wireless networks (Wi-Fi, LTE/5G, microwave, RF) in OT, manufacturing, or entertainment environments.

Deep understanding of RF planning, wireless QoS, spectrum analysis, and interference mitigation.

Experience integrating wireless systems with industrial control and monitoring networks (ICS/OT).

Familiarity with network security principles, VLAN segmentation, and secure remote access.

Proven oral, written, and business presentation skills.

Bachelor's degree or higher in Network/Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
EXPERIENCE:- 7+ years of professional experience in wireless or network engineering, with at least 3+ years managing industrial or mission-critical wireless deployments.
- Demonstrated success in RF system design, commissioning, and troubleshooting within challenging environments.
- Hands-on experience with Cisco, Aruba, Siemens SCALANCE, Rajant, or equivalent wireless solutions.
- Experience with wireless site surveys, heatmapping tools (Ekahau, iBwave, AirMagnet), and network monitoring platforms.
