The Shift Manager will be responsible for supervising staff, managing inventory, and ensuring compliance with all operational policies within a fast-paced setting such as quick service or fine dining establishments.

Duties

  • Supervise daily restaurant operations during assigned shifts, including food preparation, service delivery, and cleanliness standards.
  • Oversee staff training and development to ensure high levels of customer service and adherence to food safety regulations.
  • Manage POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS for accurate cash handling and order processing.
  • Monitor inventory levels, order supplies as needed, and control food costs to meet budgetary goals.
  • Ensure proper food handling and safety procedures are followed at all times.
  • Lead team members in delivering exceptional customer experiences through effective communication and leadership.
  • Conduct interviews and participate in hiring processes to build a competent team.
  • Handle customer complaints professionally and resolve issues promptly to maintain satisfaction.
  • Coordinate with kitchen management on food production, catering events, and banquet services when applicable.
  • Assist in managing budgets, scheduling staff shifts, and overseeing overall restaurant operations during your shift.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in restaurant management or food service management roles, including supervising teams in quick service or fine dining environments.
  • Strong knowledge of food preparation, culinary techniques, and kitchen operations.
  • Experience with POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS; cash handling skills required.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with experience in staff training, team management, and interviewing candidates.
  • Familiarity with inventory control, budgeting, and food safety standards within the hospitality industry.
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle challenging situations professionally.
  • Prior experience in restaurant or hospitality management is preferred; assistant manager experience is a plus.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends as needed for shift coverage.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently.
