Position title: Sr. Java Developer

Location: Washington, DC (Locals and ready to attend F2F)

Duration: 6 Months+

Requisition Details

The selected individual will primarily be working on DevOps tasks related to our eService and Digital eXperience programs. The primary responsibility will be assisting an existing team with the migration of Spring-based web applications and services into our new DevOps infrastructure. Responsibilites include, but are not limited to:

• Migrating applications to a Maven structure

• Migrating applications to Git (BitBucket)

• Integrating applications to Jenkins for Continuous Integration

• Increasing application Junit test coverage

• Integrating applications with Sonar

• Improving code quality and removing technical debt

The selected candidate may also be responsible for full life cycle activities in support of multiple projects which might include:

• Working with architects and technical leads on design, prototyping, and development

• Developing software per architecture design and industry best practices

• Unit & Integration testing of developed code

• Participating in code reviews

• Documenting system changes

• Mentoring more junior resources and enforcing software development best practices

Required Skills:

This position requires a BS in computer science or equivalent degree, and 5 to 8 years of professional software development experience using Enterprise Java technologies. Specific requirements include, but are not limited to:

• Strong, hands on experience using the latest Java/JEE technologies

• Experience with open source Frameworks including Spring MVC, Spring Batch, Hibernate, MyBatis

• Experience with both RESTful and SOAP web services

• Experience with Junit, TestNG, and Mockito

• Experience with Maven

• Experience with Jenkins

• Familiarity with various UI frameworks like JQuery, AJAX, and AngularJS

• Excellent troubleshooting, analytical and problem solving skills

• Comfort in working within a unix environment (AIX)

• Independent, self-starter & team player

Software & Tools:

Java/JEE, Spring MVC, Spring Batch, Spring Security, Hibernate, MyBatis, REST and SOAP Web Services, Git, Maven, Jenkins, Junit and TestNG, Maven, Ant, XML, MyEclipse, Unix

Nice to have:
