They are responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of the kitchen by handling dishwashing, cleaning tasks, and assisting the kitchen staff as needed. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Dishwashing: Operate commercial dishwashing machines or wash dishes, glassware, utensils, and cooking equipment by hand. Ensure proper cleaning, sanitization, and drying of all items in compliance with health and safety standards.
  • Kitchen Cleaning: Clean and sanitize kitchen surfaces, including countertops, sinks, stovetops, ovens, and food preparation areas. Sweep and mop floors, remove trash, and maintain overall cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen.
  • Utensil and Equipment Maintenance: Sort, stack, and store cleaned dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment in their designated areas. Ensure that all items are properly stored, organized, and ready for use by the kitchen staff.
  • Stocking and Inventory: Monitor and restock kitchen supplies, such as dishwashing detergent, cleaning chemicals, and other consumables. Notify the appropriate personnel when inventory levels are low to ensure uninterrupted kitchen operations.
  • Waste Management: Dispose of kitchen waste properly, including food scraps, trash, and recycling materials. Follow waste management procedures and maintain cleanliness in waste disposal areas.
  • Assisting Kitchen Staff: Provide support to the kitchen staff by assisting with food preparation tasks, such as peeling vegetables, chopping ingredients, or assembling dishes. Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure smooth and efficient workflow.

Requirements:

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
