OverviewWe are seeking a Pharmacy Technician to join our team. This role involves supporting pharmacy operations, assisting in medication compounding , assisting with medication preparation, and providing exceptional patient service in a fast-paced clinical environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in retail or compounding pharmacy with a strong understanding of medical terminology, patient communication, willingness to learn.ResponsibilitiesDispensing & Retail OperationsAccurately receive, enter, and process prescriptions in the pharmacy software system.Compounding (Non-Sterile Hazardous and Non-hazardous)Weigh, measure, and mix ingredients following master formulation records (MFRs) and compounding protocols.Maintain accurate documentation of compounded preparations, batch logs, and cleaning records.Clean and maintain compounding equipment and workspace in accordance with USP and standards.Ensure quality, accuracy, and consistency in all compounded products.Administrative & Compliance DutiesMaintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.Support pharmacists in maintaining prescription records, patient profiles, and controlled substance documentation.Participate in continuous training and updates on compounding procedures, safety, and pharmacy best practices.Prepare and label medications under the supervision of a pharmacist.Manage inventory of prescription drugs, over-the-counter products, and compounding supplies.Assist customers with prescription pick-up, refills, and general inquiries in a professional and courteous manner.Handle cash register and maintain accurate transaction records.RequirementsPrior pharmacy technician experience, preferably in compounding or retail pharmacyKnowledge of medical terminology and medication administration proceduresStrong patient service skills with a focus on patient care and safetyAbility to work efficiently in high-pressure environments while maintaining attention to detailExcellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with healthcare teamsCommitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to all safety standardsThis role is integral to ensuring safe, effective medication management and delivering high-quality patient care.
