Job Summary

Join our dynamic team as an Over-the-Road (OTR) Truck Driver and embark on the ability to deliver and assist in offloading bulk tankers and dry-van shipments. Home most weekends along with an average of two nights a week with the occasional over the weekend haul. Willingness to assist the production department with duties when not driving, most specifically production.

Duties:

  • Deliver both Hazmat and Non-Hazmat bulk tanker shipments while assisting with the offloading process.
  • Deliver both Hazmat and Non-Hazmat dry-van shipments.
  • Spotting tankers/trailers for Production Team.
  • Shuttling Tractors/Trailers/Tankers needing repairs or inspections.
  • Assist Production Team with but not limited to filling tanks, loading trailers, production floor cleanup, and Inventory.
  • Assist Fleet Manager with general tractor, trailer, and tanker maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate tractor-trailers with manual transmissions across extensive routes, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
  • Load and unload freight using proper techniques and equipment such as forklifts when necessary, ensuring cargo integrity.
  • Plan efficient routes to meet delivery schedules while managing time effectively on the road.
  • Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to identify maintenance needs or safety issues.
  • Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, mileage, and cargo details in compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
  • Communicate proactively with dispatchers regarding route updates, delivery statuses, or any issues encountered during trips.
  • Ensure proper documentation for freight loads, delivery receipts, and compliance records are completed accurately.

Skills

  • Ability to haul both bulk tankers and dry-van trailers.
  • Possess the knowledge on how to properly offload a tanker trailer.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to properly back up a trailer.
  • Demonstrate all the necessary safety checks required prior to driving.
  • Need for a strong sense of safety.
  • Must be very detail oriented.
  • Basic ability to perform mechanics.
  • Ability to properly operate a forklift.
  • Openness to assist departments outside of logistics when not driving.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, work effectively, and relate well to all levels within the organization as well as with each customer upon delivery.
  • Proactively seeks out feedback and adjusts future approaches, applying lessons learned in a disciplined way
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills.

Education and Requirement:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2-5 years of relevant experience
  • Class A CDL
  • Hazmat Authority
  • Tanker Endorsement

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $79, $85,000.00 per year
