Dematic Corporation is now hiring a Regional Field Service Controls Engineer. Under the direction of the Field Service Manager, this position provides service and repair as well as service and maintenance training for installed Dematic systems and equipment. As the Dematic representative in the Customer's facility, this position has a heavy responsibility for maintaining customer goodwill toward Dematic. The primary objective is to ensure that Dematic systems have the greatest availability possible for Customer use and to ensure that Customers are satisfied with their Dematic system and equipment. This role can be based anywhere throughout North America, preferably by an airport for travel.  Travel will be required. Overtime and occasional weekend work may be required.We offer:

The base pay range for this role is estimated to be $90,000 to $100,000 per year at the time of posting. Final compensation will be determined by various factors such as work location, education, experience, knowledge, and skills. 

Tasks and Qualifications:What You Will Do In This Role:
  • Participate in semi-complex equipment trial runs, investigative tests, repairs, and overhauls, ensuring our systems operate at their peak performance.
  • Train customers on our semi-complex products and services, empowering them to use our technology effectively.
  • Perform semi-complex maintenance on tools and test equipment, meticulously detailing all inspections, maintenance, and repair work.
  • Respond to semi-complex service calls with a sense of urgency and integrity.
  • Evaluate product and equipment performance using field support data, suggesting adjustments or enhancements to boost efficiency.
  • Tackle semi-complex technical challenges, optimally identifying and resolving problems to maintain smooth operation.
What We are Looking For:
  • Must travel rapidly, dedicating 80%+ time, possibly continuous travel for a month (expenses covered).
  • Are willing to be available during off-hours, including weekends, holidays, and off shifts, to meet customer needs.
  • Can maintain composure and act calmly in stressful situations, ensuring reliable support at all times.
  • Are proficient in producing concise, clear, and comprehensive trip reports within the designated timeline, adhering strictly to Dematic guidelines.
  • Have demonstrated proficiency in repairing Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) and offering outstanding customer service assistance.
  • Demonstrate practical familiarity with Allen-Bradley Logix PLC control systems and a proven history of effectively deploying solutions.
  • Possess knowledge of repairing control hardware; Familiarity with Siemens and Modicon PLCs is required (3+ years)
  • Are skilled in diagnosing and fixing electrical issues, demonstrating a high level of technical competence.
  • Exhibit a strong customer service mentality, dedicated to maintaining positive client relationships.
  • Have excellent verbal communication skills, especially over the phone, to provide clear and effective support.
  • Can work independently, demonstrating initiative and reliability.
