Job Summary:
We're seeking a mid‑level LabVIEW Test Engineer to create and commission automated test fixtures in a new product development environment tied to the acquisition of a medical device company specializing in intravascular ultrasound (IVUS) imaging. You'll own the software and electrical integration of two new fixtures (Functional Safety and Hi‑Pot), collaborating closely with senior engineers who will provide coaching and technical guidance.
What You'll Do:
- Design, build, and bring‑up automated test fixtures for NPD, including the Functional Safety and Hi‑Pot systems; select instrumentation, define I/O, and integrate controls, safety interlocks, and data acquisition.
- Develop test software primarily in LabVIEW; if not LabVIEW, deliver robust solutions using Python + C with appropriate hardware drivers and communication protocols.
- Author test plans, procedures, and automated scripts; contribute to peer reviews, traceability, and regression execution as fixtures evolve through NPD milestones.
- Execute and document validation activities typical of regulated environments (e.g., TMV/Gage R&R for methods, calibration/verification, acceptance criteria, and versioned evidence packages).
- Produce user‑facing technical documentation (setup/operation manuals, work instructions) and maintain configuration management and issue tracking.
- Collaborate cross‑functionally with Systems, Quality/Regulatory, and Manufacturing to ensure requirements coverage, safety compliance, and DFM feedback.
Must‑Have Qualifications:
- BS in Electrical Engineering (preferred) or Computer Engineering with strong hands‑on hardware experience.
- 3–6+ years in test engineering or test automation within new product development (ideally medical devices or other regulated environments).
- Proficiency in LabVIEW (or strong Python + C skills if not LabVIEW).
- Strong communication skills and a team‑player mentality—open to coaching/mentorship from senior engineers.
- Ability to create clear technical documentation (procedures, reports, user guides).
Nice to Have:
- Comfortable with Hi‑Pot/dielectric testing concepts and functional safety verification practices.
- Prior work in medical devices (FDA QSR/ISO 13485, risk management, traceability) and exposure to TMV/Gage R&R practices.
- Fixture design/build experience (electrical schematics, wiring, safety interlocks, enclosure layout, bench bring‑up).
- Schematic capture/PCB bring‑up, power electronics, and safety‑critical testing experience.
