Position Overview
An enterprise organization in downtown Chicago is seeking a Video Editor to support its Special Projects Team. This is a hands-on, project-based role ideal for someone with strong media management skills, a passion for storytelling, and an interest in corporate content. The role will begin on a trial/project basis (~10 hours per week) with the potential to grow into a longer-term 40-hour per week engagement based on performance.
Our client is looking for Chicago-local talent. This position will be fully remote to start, but it will require 1-2 days onsite per week if/when it becomes a 40-hour per week engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Organize and manage large volumes of media assets, including footage and historical content.
Assist in editing internal-facing video content, such as:
Company anniversary clips and b-roll string outs
- Intranet videos and internal news coverage
Event recaps and simple storytelling pieces
Support the editorial team with basic cuts and assembly of footage.
- Apply editorial judgment to help shape narratives and enhance storytelling.
- Help maintain and organize the video library and asset archive.
- Collaborate with producers and editors to ensure smooth workflow and delivery.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in video editing or media management (freelance work welcome).
- Familiarity with Adobe Premiere Pro (or similar editing software).
- Interest in corporate storytelling and internal communications.
- Ability to work onsite in downtown Chicago (this is a must).
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Nice To Have
- Experience with archival footage or historical content.
- Understanding of editorial structure and storyboarding.
- Familiarity with enterprise or internal communications content.
In this position, you may have access to client or customer systems, confidential and/or proprietary information or data. This position is onsite and requires you to work closely with other individuals in a collaborative team environment.
