The Safety Coordinator is responsible for developing and executing company-wide safety programs, ensuring compliance with DOT, OSHA, and insurance regulations. This role combines strategic leadership with hands-on operational execution to create a strong safety culture and reduce risk.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safety: Develop and enforce safety policies; ensure DOT/OSHA/FMCSR compliance; conduct jobsite audits and risk assessments.
  • Incidents: Coordinate accident response, investigations, testing, and corrective actions.
  • Drivers/Contractors: Onboard and maintain safety/insurance documentation; activate/deactivate in the dispatch system.
  • Training: Deliver bilingual (English/Spanish) safety training (HOS, accident procedures, wellness, CSA).
  • Billing: Create/submit invoices; verify load tickets/PODs; resolve discrepancies; maintain AR aging.
  • Settlements & Insurance: Verify weekly deductions; ensure proper coverage for active trucks/drivers.
  • Records/Systems: Maintain accurate safety and billing records; use Excel/Word and learn trucking/TMS software.

This position ensures operational safety, legal compliance, and continuous improvement, directly reducing accidents, financial risk, and operational disruptions while promoting a culture of accountability and excellence.

Requirements:

  • Bilingual: Spanish and English (required)
  • Strong communication; ability to work across field and offices
  • Excel and Word proficiency; ability to learn operations/billing software
  • Authorized to work in the U.S.;
  • Leadership role
  • Desire and ability to handle a variety of Projects.
  • Good relationship with technical people and senior management

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of DOT/OSHA/FMCSR regulations

Salary: Competitive salary & benefits plan

Salary range $40,000-$45,000 based on experience.
