As an Afterschool Site Coordinator, you'll help coordinate lead a high-quality after school enrichment program that supports youth, engages families, and fosters strong school partnerships.
In this leadership role, you'll help to coordinate a school-based after school program that delivers a well-rounded experience for TK-5th grade students. Your responsibilities include daily program coordination and operations, staff oversight, academic and enrichment programming, parent engagement, and collaboration with school administrators and community stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and lead a comprehensive after school enrichment program that includes academics, enrichment, STEAM, physical activity, and family engagement.
- Ensure full compliance with all safety, risk and health procedures.
- Manage and coach program staff team members, providing oversight, guidance and feedback.
- Maintain safety, cleanliness, and risk management standards at all times.
- Cultivate positive relationships with children, families, school partners, and community organizations.
- Manage administrative tasks such as snack and supply orders, daily reports, and documentation.
- Assist with staff team member scheduling.
- Use positive discipline and supervision strategies aligned with YMCA policies.
- Support YMCA fundraising events, family nights, and staff team member training throughout the year.
Schedule: This is a part-time position with approximately 25 hours per week. The program is based on a public school campus. Typical hours are 1:00pm-6:00pm, with additional meetings or events as needed. This position is seasonal, and shifts are scheduled on school days only. When school is out of session, there are opportunities for the Site Coordinator to take on other roles within the youth development program or take unpaid time off.
QualificationsQualifications:
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience working with diverse communities and School-Age children in a group setting.
- Two years' experience working in an after school program. Previous experience working with School-Age children in a group setting (preferred). Ability to plan, organize and implement age-appropriate/developmentally appropriate program activities. Ability to develop positive, authentic relationships with people from different backgrounds.
- Strong character values, strong communication skills, emotional maturity
To ease the onboarding experience, hired candidates will be provided access to complete a mandatory TB Test clearance and Health Screening, at no cost, prior to their first scheduled shift. The YMCA also provides all new hires with access to paid CPR/First Aid certification training, at no cost, to be completed within 60 days of hire.
