Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated Apprentice Carpenter / Laborer to join our construction team. This entry-level position offers hands-on experience in various aspects of rough and finish carpentry and construction projects. The ideal candidate will be eager to learn, able to work safely on-site, and develop skills across multiple trades within the construction industry. This role provides a valuable opportunity to gain practical experience and grow into a skilled tradesperson.
This position might require some traveling when needed.
Responsibilities
- Assist with framing, trim carpentry, and other carpentry tasks using hand tools and power tools
- Support construction activities such as concrete forming, rebar installation, and roofing
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction plans
- Perform demolition, site cleanup, and material handling including heavy lifting
- Assist with installation of fixtures, cabinets, doors, siding, and stucco
- Support restoration projects including water damage remediation and mold removal
- Aid in flooring installation, tile laying, drywall work, and painting preparation
- Follow safety protocols at all times to ensure a secure work environment
- Collaborate with team members on various construction site tasks to ensure project efficiency
Requirements
- Prior construction site experience or related hands-on work preferred but not required; training will be provided
- Knowledge of hand tools, power tools, and basic construction techniques
- Ability to read blueprints or schematics is a plus
- Capable of heavy lifting and working in physically demanding environments
- Strong work ethic with a willingness to learn new skills in carpentry and construction trades
- Reliable transportation to job sites; valid driver's license is advantageous
- Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions accurately
- Safety-conscious attitude with the ability to work effectively in team settings
