Coating Technician (First Shift)

Responsibilities and Duties

JOB DUTIES

SSI is currently seeking for a full-time, motivated and hardworking individual to join the

Coating Department. Experience preferred but not required, training will be provided to all new hires. Hands-on training provided in all aspects of the job. Candidate must be competent in using machinery and computers. Needs to be self-motivated and be able to work independently as well as a team member. Typical training period is approximately 2 to 3 months. Coating runs vary in length and can require flexibility in schedule.

Requirements:

  • Minimum high school diploma.
  • Good work ethic, attention to detail, initiative, adaptability, integrity.
  • Operate High Vacuum chambers and components.
  • Be mechanically inclined.
  • Have manufacturing Experience (Machine Operating).
  • All applicants must be proficient in MS Office and Internet Explorer.
  • Read and follow work instruction and routers.
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings.
  • Must be able to sit unsupervised for long periods.
  • Work requires precision and detail.
  • Heavy lifting required.

Primary job duties are to perform a variety of routine operations supporting production in a specific functional area. Position requires working efficiently from standard procedures and specifications and inspecting in-process and finished products for quality. As well as performing daily cleaning of the production area.

Salary Range: $20/hr - $35/hr. Pay range is dependent on various factors including experience.

  • Ability to work under timelines and pressure

  • Ability to perform precision work by hand, attention to detail is a must - Good communication skills

  • Good visual acuity required

  • Perform a wide variety of tasks simultaneously

  • Work effectively without direct supervision

  • Work well in a fast paced environment

  • Work well with others in close proximity

  • Cleans and maintains laboratory environment
