The Shipping and Receiving Specialist is responsible for the accurate and efficient handling of incoming and outgoing shipments. This role ensures all products are received, put away, and shipped in accordance with company procedures. The position requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and compliance with all safety standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities of a Shipping and Receiving Speciialist

  • Receive, inspect, and document incoming shipments.
  • Verify shipment contents against purchase orders, bills of lading, and packing slips.
  • Load and unload trucks.
  • Package products for shipments, and accurately prepare shipping documents and labels, including bills of lading and packing slips.
  • Perform regular inventory counts and maintain warehouse organization.
  • Inspect and report any damage or discrepancies in shipments or inventory.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in shipping/receiving.
  • Operate warehouse equipment safely and report any maintenance or safety concerns.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in shipping and receiving.
  • Basic math, computer, and data entry skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods.
