JOB TITLE: PAIP COORDINATOR
IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: PAIP MANAGER
CLASSIFICATION: NON-EXEMPT
POSTION SUMMARY:
Along with the PAIP Manager and other PAIP staff, plans PAIP group lessons in line with curriculum, and co-facilitates PAIP groups with persons who use violence. Also, assesses perpetrators of domestic violence, facilitates PAIP services, monitors and reports program participants' compliance. Reports directly to the PAIP Manager.
*PAIP services to be provided at the Winnebago County Adult Probation Building and Remedies Rockford office at 215 Easton Parkway. *Includes evening hours.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct intake/assessment with persons referred by the 17th Judicial Circuit Court of Winnebago County, Illinois, and other referral sources, who use violence against their intimate partner.
- Co-facilitates weekly PAIP groups with persons who use violence against their intimate partner.
- Ensures standards of the Illinois Department of Human Services Protocol for Partner Abuse Intervention Programs (89 ILLINOIS ADMINISTRATIVE CODE 501, also referred to here as "Protocol") are adhered to for monitoring and compliance reporting.
- Provides outreach and education about Remedies Renewing Lives PAIP services to the community as requested or assigned.
- Collaborates with criminal justice and court personnel to provide PAIP services with persons who use violence against their intimate partner.
- Ensures victims/survivors of domestic violence are referred to Remedies Renewing Lives advocacy staff.
- Assists with completing group attendance documentation and maintaining PAIP client records, to ensure accuracy and reflect compliance documentation for DHS, courts, and/or child welfare.
- Ensures confidentiality standards of the Illinois Mental Health Code and Protocol are adhered to.
- Facilitates, participates in and completes training as assigned.
- Attends local PAIP provider meetings &/or other community meetings as assigned.
- Works closely with PAIP Manager and other PAIP staff to plan and facilitate groups in a collaborative and egalitarian manner.
- With supervisor, completes and implements personal professional development plan.
- Maintains working relationships with clients, other staff and community agencies.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Ability to work in evenings
- Ability to prepare and maintain effective case files
- Ability to participate in and successfully complete a comprehensive training program
- Ability to provide sincere interest necessary to work with client population
- Ability to engage potential clientele and/or maintain current clients in services by providing support and encouragement
- Must acquire and apply the skills necessary for empathetic and empowering counseling/crisis intervention techniques and methods
- Possess high physical and emotional energy needed to handle the array of circumstances that may arise
- Basic computer skills
- Demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills
- Skills in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with clients, staff and the public
EDUCATION:
Bachelor's Degree required.
EXPERIENCE:
Demonstrated skills in individual, group case management
CERTIFICATE/LICENSE:
Completion of the 40-hour domestic violence training as required by the Illinois Domestic Violence Act (IDVA) from an Illinois Certified Domestic Violence Professional (CDVP) approved training site and completion of 20-hour partner abuse intervention program training from an Illinois Certified Partner Abuse Intervention Prevention (CPAIP) approved training site. The above trainings will be provided &/or coordinated by Remedies upon hire, if needed.
COMPENSATION:
$22.34/HR- $22.34/HR
BENEFIT SUMMARY:
All full-time employees are eligible for insurance on the first of the month after 30 days of employment.
Benefits include medical, dental and 401K participation. We also offer an accrual of 4 weeks of paid time off per year.
There is an annual discretionary bonus given as well after completing 1 year of service.
Full-time employees are also eligible for short/long term disability and term life insurance.
