Children's Center of Wayne County (TCC) The Children's Center, founded in 1929, provides evidence-based clinical therapy to children who deal with mental, behavioral, emotional, intellectual, and developmental health and educational challenges or may have experienced trauma.
School + Community-Based Partnerships: We partner with K-12 schools and community organizations that serve children to provide clinical therapy, counseling, psychological services, and psychiatric evaluations, treatment & interventions.
Child Welfare: In addition to the clinical therapy programs offered, The Children's Center places children in licensed foster homes, and supports them throughout their time in the child welfare system.
Child Well-being + Family Success: We operate an onsite family success center that promotes child-wellbeing and offers children and youth from all walks of life to access relevant mental health crisis prevention and child abuse and neglect prevention services.
Advocacy: We champion child and youth well-being for those experiencing poverty-related issues, those within the child welfare system, and those in need of evidence-based, clinical therapy.

Job Summary
The Infant Mental Health (IMH) Clinical Consultant provides expertise in early childhood mental health to support the social-emotional development and well-being of infants, toddlers, young children (ages 0–5), and their families. This role includes the clinical supervision consultation, coaching and training, of the Infant Early Childhood Behavioral Health clinicians.
Job Requirements
- Master's degree or higher in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related mental health field.
- Clinical license (LMSW, LMFT, LPC, etc.)
- Endorsement in Infant Mental Health (e.g., IECMH Endorsement).
- Minimum 2 years of experience working with children ages 0–5 and their families.
- Experience providing consultation or supervision in early childhood settings.
- Knowledge of early childhood development, attachment theory, trauma, and family systems.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills.
Essential Functions
- Provide on-site clinical supervision and consultation to IECBH staff on issues related to infant and early childhood mental health.
- Offer professional development and training to early childhood professionals on topics such as attachment, self-regulation, behavior guidance, and mental health. Provide additional guidance with their workplan to obtain IMH Endorsement within the 2-year time frame of Waiver status. Provide written status of their progress.
- Collaborate with community partners.
- Participate in program evaluation and quality improvement efforts.
