Position Overview

As a Test Lab Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and reliability of Hunter Douglas North America products. You will be responsible for performing duties outlined in the Training Matrix and Test Lab Test Procedures, including testing and troubleshooting current and developmental products. This position requires close collaboration with engineers to develop and execute testing plans, as well as supporting marketing projects. You will also contribute to the development of new testing methods, equipment modifications, and maintain a thorough understanding of design criteria and product expectations.

What you'll do

  • Conduct comprehensive testing and troubleshooting of Hunter Douglas North America products.
  • Develop and execute testing plans in collaboration with engineers.
  • Perform failure analysis on products and communicate findings in detail to test lab customers.
  • Stay technically current on new and revised Hunter Douglas window covering products.
  • Test products from prototype to production release, including fabric, hardware, and component-level testing.
  • Correlate lab-controlled test equipment and protocols to real-world applications.
  • Handle multiple projects and tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Support marketing projects and assist in the development of new testing methods and equipment modifications.
  • All other duties as assigned

Who you are

  • Should have 4-6 years of experience in a testing environment.
  • Should hold a technical degree or certification in Mechanical Engineering or possess equivalent job experience.
  • Should have comprehensive knowledge of Hunter Douglas products and processes.
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal teamwork, mentorship, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in using computer software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, email, and have some knowledge of SAP.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
