*Job Summary*
The Medical Billing professionals at The Georgia Institute For Plastic Surgery play a crucial role in ensuring our providers are paid for their services. They work as a liaison between our office and insurance companies. Certified Professional Biller (CPB) credential preferred.
*Duties*
Billing: Preparing and sending invoices and claims for payment.
Tracking: Following up with patients and insurance companies regarding outstanding bills.
Verifying: Ensuring the accuracy of patient insurance information in the practice management system.
Communicating: Acting as a liaison between medical professionals and other parties to accurately explain billing information.
Collecting: Collecting, posting and managing account payments.
*Requirements*
- Ability to research CPT and ICD-10 medical codes for diagnoses and procedures.
-Ability to correctly identify reasons for claim denials and respond with effective appeal letters.
Proficiency in medical terminology, anatomy and physiology.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
A sound knowledge of medical coding and billing guidelines and regulations including compliance and reimbursement.
